President Biden to Skip UN Climate Summit

Other administration officials will attend COP28 in Dubai.

The White House’s official schedule indicates that President Joe Biden will not be attending the United Nations climate summit in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, this week. The annual climate conference will be taking place this Friday and Saturday.

A White House spokesperson stated, “Although we don’t have any travel updates to share for the President at this time, the Administration looks forward to a robust and productive COP28 where Special Envoy John Kerry, National Climate Advisor Ali Zaidi, and Senior Advisor John Podesta, among others, will continue to build on the Administration’s historic actions to tackle the climate crisis.”

President Biden attended the UN climate conference in person each of the first two years of his presidency. The president has made climate change a priority among his administration’s policies. The White House has not announced whether or how President Biden would participate in the upcoming summit of 200 nations.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the president and Cabinet officials to seek the Lord’s direction as they determine priorities and policies.
  • For the officials from the administration who will attend the summit to be prudent in their negotiations.
